Couple looking for a cozy escape
We had dinner at the restaurant, and let me tell you, the steak pie was HUUUGE! Really tasty, they serve proper pub grub that fills you right up! the staff were attentive and super friendly, making us feel like we were at home.
It wasn’t exactly cheap, but it was still within reason for what we got.

Had an amazing time relaxing in the lovely garden and enjoying a drink by the fire pit at night. The room was spacious with fantastic views, although we could hear some noise from outside, but it didn’t keep us up. Definitely try the local ales while you're here! 🍻

Our family really enjoyed our stay, particularly the variety of options for breakfast. The staff were incredibly helpful, ensuring we had all we needed during our three nights. The room, though a bit snug with just one chair, had everything necessary for a comfortable stay and the stunning scenery around was truly the icing on the cake.

Clean rooms with a homely feel, offering stunning outdoor views and a spacious garden accompanied by patio seating. The restaurant serves good quality meals with generous portions, making it a hit for hungry walkers returning after a day's trek.
The bed felt a bit too firm for me, while my partner didn't mind, and the shower pressure left much to be desired, taking longer than expected to warm up. During busy periods, it can be tough to find seating in the bar, and while it’s dog-friendly, the presence of other dogs may not suit everyone’s taste. during inclement weather, walking from the extension to breakfast could get a bit wet, so be prepared for that inconvenience.

I recently visited The Coledale and found the place charming. The cozy atmosphere felt welcoming. The location near gorgeous mountain views can't be beaten. I loved the hearty food, especially the roast dinners and the beef and mushroom pie. The portion sizes were impressive. Breakfast options were varied, from full English to cereals. The staff stood out. They were friendly and attentive, creating a relaxed environment. the bathroom situation was a bit inconvenient. having the toilet separate from the bathroom felt unpractical, especially when it came to hygiene. The room also had a small issue—the remote for the television barely held together. The Wi-Fi password not being in the room was a hassle. I had a delightful stay, but some improvements could really enhance the experience.

Cozy stay with fab food!
Had a lovely 2-night stay with my partner. The double room was spotless, and the bar area was super cozy. The food was so good, really tasty! Just a bit of mold on the shower grouting kinda stood out, though. The staff were friendly and made us feel so welcome. It’s really dog-friendly! :)

The Haddock & chips was a culinary highlight, and the breakfast spread had me buzzing! Staff were incredibly friendly, and the stunning location made for a fab stay at the foot of the hills.
The Double Room felt a bit tight—only one chair for two and a wardrobe door that opened onto the telly. A few rough edges didn’t dim the experience too much, though!

The spacious room was beautifully decorated and impeccably clean, offering all necessary amenities, including tea and coffee making facilities. Dining options were excellent, with standout dishes like the haddock and chips. plus a friendly atmosphere for dog owners. there could be more choices for non-meat eaters at certain meals, and the bar area can become quite busy during peak times.
